webManagement

Image First of all, what is webManagement? A website is always hosted on a server, a computer connected to the internet. These servers are hosted by providers (or simply "hosts"). These providers make sure the website stays online.

If you choose to, Tengu webDesign will choose a provider, and take care of all communication with it. This way there is no need to worry about making backups, security, claiming domain names or moving your website should the need arise. Tengu webDesign can manage this all for you, and provide other services, such as:

  • claiming domain names (and if necessary; moving existing domaines to another provider)
  • creating a (in theory unlimited) number of e-mail accounts or aliases for your website
  • creating a 'counter', an application that counts the number of visitors, registering what visitors are looking at on your site, and what they were looking for
  • renting serverspace (the amount of which, and the price of it, depending on the size of the website)
  • buying 'datatraffic' (the more traffic the site is generating, the more it costs)
  • contacting the provider and solving the rare server downtime issues

Tengu webDesign charges a small fee per year for these services

Managing the content of your website

When you choose to do business with Tengu webDesign you get a website with a unique design (see webDesign) and if you want filled with "content"; text, images, and all the options and functions you require.

To attract visitors you need to keep the content of the site up to date. You can choose to let those alterations be made by Tengu webDesign. This means of course that the time this takes will be charged. If you plan to alter and/or update your site on a regular base, this could prove to be an expensive option.

Because Tengu webDesign can make custom made websites powered by Mambo CMS it is also possible to update your site yourself, or by someone, or multiple persons in your organisation. Much cheaper! A course with an introductions on how to use Mambo can be included within our contract. If need be this course can also be given to groups. It goes without saying that for support you can always rely on e-mail or Instant Messaging using MSN or Skype.
